元器件交易网讯 6月9日消息，据台湾电子时报报道，根据供应链上游的消息，随着集成了服务器、存储和交换的解决方案成为云计算产业的趋势，台湾服务器ODM为提升其盈利能力正积极推动存储和交换业务。

　　广达电脑、纬创、英业达和富士康电子正在为存储和交换业务招揽人才。

　　随着云计算领域参与者与日俱增，进军存储和交换业务将有助于台湾服务器ODM在技术和市场定位中脱颖而出。

　　有报道称广达已与VMware合作推出RackGo V系列解决方案。为满足中小型企业的需求，广达将继续拓展RackGo生产线。

　　该消息来源称，英业达亿在美国加利福尼亚设立一个小组负责交换技术开发，组成员全部是从思科挖过来的。英业达还将推出集成解决方案。

　　未来3-5年，云计算数据中心的数目将持续增多，并且这项业务所带来的机遇对于台湾服务器ODM非常重要。预计集成了服务器、存储和交换的解决方案将成为首选。

　　Taiwan-based server ODMs are pushing aggressively into storage and switch businesses to enhance their profitability as solutions that integrate server, storage and switch, will become a new trend in the cloud computing industry, according to sources from the upstream supply chain.

　　ODMs such as Quanta Computer, Wistron, Inventec and Foxconn Electronics (Hon Hai Precision Industry) have been seeking talent for their storage and switch businesses.

　　With the number of competitors in the cloud computing industry increasing rapidly, entering the storage and switch businesses will help Taiwan server ODMs to differentiate themselves from competitors in terms of technology and market position.

　　Quanta has recently partnered with VMware to launch RackGo V-series solutions. To satisfy demand from small-to-medium-size enterprises, Quanta will continue to expand its RackGo product line.

　　Inventec currently has a team in California, the US handling switch development, with team members all headhunted from Cisco. Inventec is also set to release integrated solutions, the sources said.

　　The establishment of cloud computing datacenters will continue to increase in the next 3-5 years, and the business opportunities will be important for Taiwan server ODMs. Solutions with server/storage/switch integration are expected to become top picks, the sources noted.

　　Solutions with server/storage/switch integration also provide better gross margins for Taiwan ODMs, compared to the business model of supplying servers alone.
