元器件交易网讯 5月21日消息，据外媒报道，联发科承诺2014年优先推出4G芯片组，因此短期内难以推出支持Windows Phone的芯片平台。

　　组建1万人研发团队后，联发科已经迅速推出了四核、八核及4G解决方案，并计划在2014第三季度推出两款64位CPU。

　　联发科对Windows Phone平台的保守观点与竞争对手高通刚好相反，高通已决定为WP推出QRD（高通参考设计）。预计高通针对WP的QRD将于2014年下半年推出。（元器件交易网毛毛  译）

　　MediaTek is unlikely to roll out smartphonechipset platforms supporting Windows Phone in the short term as theTaiwan-based solution vendor has given the priority to ramp up its share in the4G chipset segment in 2014, according to industry sources.

　　Having established an R&D team of over10,000 members, MediaTek has been rapidly rolling out quad- and 8-core as wellas 4G solutions, also plans to launch two 64-bit CPUs in the third quarter of2014, said the sources.

　　MediaTek will also focus its efforts on 4Gchips to cash in on the booming 4G smartphone market in China as well as 3Gchips for China-based handset vendors, which are now shifting their focus topromote handset sales in overseas markets, added the sources.

　　MediaTek's conservative view toward theWindows Phone platform runs counter to rival Qualcomm, which has decided tolaunch QRD (Qualcomm Reference Design) smartphones for WP.

　　The first wave of WP-based smartphonesbuilt on QRD is expected to hit the market in the second half of 2014, said thesources.
