外媒评Computex2014:可穿戴一箩筐 可是没啥创新

  元器件交易网讯台北国际电脑展(Computex)盛况空前,业内人士不远万里前来参加。可是来自PCworld的专家们转了一圈发现,今年的可穿戴产品多如牛毛,可是都没什么创新。

  可穿戴设备爆发

  今年有数十家来自台湾和大陆的公司都展示其第一代产品,而在去年这一领域几乎没有得到关注。

  原因在于行业预测看好可穿戴设备的发展,未来几年这一市场将新增数以千万计的设备。2013年下半年智能腕带销售量为160万个,2017年这一数字将达到4500万。

  如果这一预测是准确的,那么可穿戴设备对于任何一家公司来说都是重要部分,甚至会主导公司业务。在这一市场变得拥挤之前,各家需要抢占先机。如果一定要评价今年展出的可穿戴设备,那么就是缺乏创新。几乎全部的产品都是智能手表和健身追踪腕带的变体。

  宏碁Liquid Leap

  宏碁的智能腕带Liquid Leap可以通过蓝牙连接安卓智能机,将通话和基本的音频控制转移到它小小的屏幕上。Liquid Leap的核心是健身追踪,可以测量步行距离、步数及卡路里消耗情况。第三季度宏碁的配套智能机Liquid Jade也将推出,宏碁表示如果市场有足够兴趣也将独立销售Liquid Leap。

  振曜科技智能手表

  台湾厂商斟酌科技已开发出其第一块智能手表,该手表采用1.73英寸墨水屏,续航时间4-6天。该屏幕为触摸屏,通过蓝牙与智能机连接显示来电及信息。8月下旬振曜科技将出货,大部分客户来自欧洲市场。该产品售价将低于100美元。

  影驰S101

  来自中国制造商影驰的只能饿手表S101是为数不多不使用安卓系统的设备。它运行的系统只有计算器、日历、短信及电话管理等基础功能。1.6英寸屏幕分辨率为240X240,该公司表示一旦S101投入实用,将推出采用 Android Wear系统的版本。

  AiQ智能服装

  来自台湾的AiQ智能服装展示其最新解决方案,可以跟踪用户生命体征的衬衫。其工作原理是通过将导电纤维织入面料中来跟踪心率,通过附带电池供电,并能将数据远程上传给设备。该衬衫可以承受100-200次的清洗。AiQ表示类似的智能服装产品将于今年晚些时候面世,定价及市场将取决于其合作伙伴。

  盖德健康手表

  台湾制造商盖德(Guidercare)推出了一款针对老年人的健康手表。天使系列GD-800与其他智能手表类似,重点在于监测用户的健康状况和地理位置。数据通过应用上传给远程看护人,可以帮助他们了解老人的健康状况。该设备售价将低于300美元,今年晚些时候盖德的合作伙伴将在全球范围内推出该产品。盖德的智能手表运行安卓系统并具有3G功能可拨打电话,可以在紧急情况下发送向看护人发送警报。

  长天科技心率监控器

  绿洲奥斯健身腕带

  新家坡厂商绿洲奥斯(Oaxis)开发了一款旨在推动全民健身的智能腕带,并命名为星21。该产品需要与智能手机端应用配合使用,移动端应用将为用户打造21天完成目标方案,智能腕带则以模拟形式显示出时间。绿洲奥斯产品在中国及东南亚地区销售,星21的售价为42美元左右,并将在7月推出。

  Kronoz智能手表

  来自瑞士的Kronoz已经发售了多款智能手表,该公司产品主要在欧洲销售,并向亚太、包括美国在内的北美延伸。该公司的下一代产品ZeWatch 2及ZeBracelet 2将在下月推出,两款产品都可通过蓝牙与智能机连接显示来电和信息,同时还有计步器及热量消耗统计功能。

  Wearables on a tear

  Visitors don’t have to walk far to findwearables at Computex, the big IT trade show taking place in Taipei this week.Dozens of companies from Taiwan and China are showcasing first-generationproducts—a big change from last year when they got almost no attention.

  The reason for this new attention is clear:Bullish industry projections put the wearables market at tens of millions ofdevices over the next few years. The market for smart wristbands was 1.6million devices in the second half of 2013, and will rise to 45 million in2017, according to Canalys.

  If the analysts are correct, that couldmean big business for the companies that eventually become leaders, so the raceis on for a foothold before the market gets too crowded. But if this year’sshow indicates anything, it’s that innovation is sorely lacking. The productson display were all variants of smartwatches and fitness trackers, althoughwith a few twists on what’s already available.

  Acer Liquid Leap

  Acer’s smart wristband, the Liquid Leap,connects via Bluetooth to an Android phone to bring phone notifications andsome basic audio controls to its tiny screen. At its heart, the Liquid Leap is afitness tracker and includes a built-in pedometer and measurement of distancetraveled and calories burned. It’s due out in the third quarter but only with acompanion smartphone, the Liquid Jade. Acer said it will consider selling theLeap on a stand-alone basis if there is enough interest.

  Netronix Smartwatch

  Taiwanese manufacturer Netronix hasdeveloped its first smartwatch, which uses an e-ink display. This gives thedevice a battery life of between four and six days, at the cost of no colorother than black and white. The 1.73-inch display, however, is a touchscreen.It works more as a companion device to a smartphone, and is able to displayincoming messages and calls over Bluetooth connectivity. Netronix will startshipping the smartwatch in late August to its business clients, many of whomare in Europe. The product is made to be priced below $100.

  Galapad S101

  The S101 smartwatch from China’s Galapad isone of the few on show that doesn’t run Google’s Android. It’s currentlyrunning a proprietary operating system with basic features like a calculator,calendar access, messaging and phone controls. The 1.6-inch screen has a 240 by240 pixel resolution, and the company says it will launch a new model withGoogle’s new Android Wear operating system when it becomes available.

  AiQ Digital Clothing

  AiQ Smart Clothing, a company out ofTaiwan, is showing off one of its latest solutions: a shirt that can monitor auser’s vital signs. It works by weaving conductive fibers into the fabric thatcan help track the user’s heartbeat. It’s powered by an attachable battery thatcan also remotely upload the data to a device. The shirt can also be washed 100to 200 times. AiQ said similar smart-clothing products will arrive later thisyear, although pricing and market will depend on its partners.

  Guidercare Health Watch

  Taiwan-based manufacturer Guidercare islaunching a health-care wearable for the elderly. The Angel Smart GD-800 lookslike other smartwatches, but it’s also meant to monitor the user’s health andlocation. The data is uploaded remotely to a caregiver’s smartphone via an app,letting them monitor the user’s health. The device will be priced below $300and launch worldwide later this year through Guidercare’s partners. It runsAndroid and has 3G connectivity to make phone calls, or alert a caregiverduring emergencies.

  Holux Heartrate monitor

  Holux, a Taiwan-based manufacturer, isshowing off a smartwatch geared for heartbeat monitoring. In the back of thewatch’s display is an optical heart-rate sensor that when on can last for 11hours. Holux’s watch is waterproof, weighs 25 grams and uses a 1.26-inchmonochrome black screen. It can connect to a smartphone over Bluetooth toreceive notifications as well. The company will start shipping the smartwatchto clients late in the year.

  Oaxis Fitness band

  Singapore-based Oaxis has developed asmartband meant to promote fitness. Called the Star 21, the product synchs witha company-developed mobile app that can be installed on a smartphone. Themobile app works by setting out goals for the user to complete over a 21-dayperiod. The smartband itself can display the time in analog format. Oaxis sellsits products to China and Southeast Asia, and expects the Star 21 to retail for$42 when it launches in July.

  Kronoz Smartwatch

  Swiss-based Kronoz is already sellingseveral smartwatch models and wants to develop a large collection. The companyis mainly selling in Europe, but is expanding to Asia Pacific and NorthAmerica, including the U.S. The company’s next-generation products, the ZeWatch2 and ZeBracelet 2, will launch next month. Both devices connect to thesmartphone via Bluetooth, and can display incoming calls and messages. Theyalso work as pedometers to track steps taken and calories burned.

  Sonostar Smartwatch

  Taiwan-based Sonostar wants to sell its ownwearable, simply called the SmartWatch, globally through online sales. Thedevice has a 1.73-inch e-ink display, giving it three to five days of batterylife. The curved display is a touchscreen, and meant to be readable undersunlight. Included are some apps that can track a user’s exercise activities.It can also synch with a phone, and notify a user of incoming phone calls andother messages. Sonostar’s device will be priced at $179 and be available inmid-July.
